Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope this message finds you all well and in good health.

At this point in time, in preparation for Term 2, Wyong Public School are preparing to set up Google Classrooms for each class. This will enable every student to access online learning from home.

Google Classrooms is a way for parents/students to access activities and work online that is set by their class teacher.

We are hoping to have all students (where possible) accessing online learning through Google Classrooms in Term 2. We understand that some families require paper copies of class work and this will be provided along with any workbooks.

From now until the end of Term 1 (9th April 2020), we would like to support you and your child’s education by familiarising you with Google Classrooms. This is your opportunity to practise navigating Google Classroom prior to accessing formal lessons in Term 2.

Please click on the link at the top of the page to see a short video tutorial that Mrs Adams kindly created to support your child in accessing Google Classroom.

Alternatively, you can follow the instructions below.

Google Classroom - Student Access

1.       Google Chrome browser (if using a computer) or Application (download from app store) if using iPad/Android

2.       Google: NSW student portal

3.       Ask your child to enter their username and password that they use in their classroom and the iCentre

4.       From the student portal page (bottom right), select Gsuite

5.       Google Classroom

6.       Select Class group (if it does not appear, progress to next step)

7.       ‘Join group’ then type in the code you have been sent via Class Dojo.

If you have any problems, please contact your child’s class teacher by phone on 43522077 or via Class Dojo and we will do our best to assist you. Please remember the more you practise on Google Classroom this term the better prepared you/your child will be for Term 2.

Please be kind to yourselves and remember this is a difficult time and very unknown experience for everyone. You are all doing a great job! We thank you for supporting your child's education and are here for any support you need.

Kind regards,

Mrs Vicki Arnot

Deputy Principal
