Important Update: COVID 19 Regulations

School Image

Dear Parents,

Please note the updates below, which means our school will be working at Level 3 settings from Monday 8th November 2021.

In reference to before school and afternoon pick up for all children, the current process will not change.

From 8 November

All schools will operate on updated Level 3 settings for the rest of Term 4, with additional activities allowed in a COVID-safe manner.

Further advice will be provided to support schools to implement these changes.

Parents and carers on site to support school operations

Fully vaccinated parents and carers will be allowed on site to support curriculum delivery, student wellbeing activities and school operations (for example reading support, canteens and uniform shops). Parents and carers must check in using the school check-in and show proof of vaccination on entry to the school site.

Our school will continue with normal drop-off in the morning and the same process in the afternoon.

Assemblies and presentations

Assemblies and presentations will be allowed outdoors on site. Cohorts should be separated with physical distancing in place.

Care must be taken to avoid mixing and mingling of cohorts when entering and exiting the assembly or presentation.

Fully vaccinated visitors (including parents and carers) are only allowed to attend if completing a specific role (such as presenting) and at the invitation of the school. All visitors must check in using the school check-in and show proof of vaccination.

Community use

Community use will be allowed outside of school hours, per general community settings and with a COVID-19 Safety Plan, including any specific plans required under Public Health Orders. This includes P&C meetings.

Excursions and incursions

Excursions will be allowed outdoors and indoors if the class cohort has sole use of the venue. Transportation to and from venues must maintain class cohorts.

Incursions will be allowed indoors or outdoors in cohorts. Any visitors on site to support incursions must be fully vaccinated and will be required to check in using the school check-in app and show proof of vaccination status on entry to the school site.

Graduations and formals

Graduations and formals will be allowed within cohorts, either on school sites or at external venues.

This will mean that our Year 6 Farewell will go ahead in a similar fashion to 2020, particularly in terms of drop-offs and pick-ups from the venue at Kooindah Waters. A separate note will cover this.

Graduations and formals held off school sites must comply with any COVID-safe requirements in place for that venue.

Sports

From 1 November, school sports are allowed, including inter-school sports outside of school hours.

Schools can access pools (both indoor and outdoor) within cohorts and with COVID-safe measures in place to reduce mixing and mingling of cohorts.

Transitions and orientations

Transitions and orientations will be allowed as long as they are designed to minimise mingling between transition or orientation cohorts and school cohorts.

Visitors

Fully vaccinated visitors are allowed on site to support curriculum delivery, wellbeing programs and school operations. These include programs such as reading support, canteens, uniform shops and gardening.

Other visitors may request the school’s permission to come on site to conduct relevant work duties (such as media, representatives from agencies such as the NSW Ombudsman, researchers, members of parliament and their staff). These decisions are at the discretion of the school.

All visitors must sign in using the school check-in app and show proof of vaccination status on entry to the school site.

Thank you
